Another song from my bouncing imagination

I was motivated to do this song right after I got Yhorieck's message about the song he wrote for me. Its about our friendship, and our aspiration.

♥Sentiments of YhoRieck♥

Sentiments of YhoRieck is a new song that Yhorieck himself wrote. I, on the other hand, did some editing and stuff... but basically, the song is his. (You can find it in the playlist on the right side.)

It actually started when we were having this conversation on text about where we are right now, and we got engaged to discussing things like, our goals, our dream, plans, past,etc.

We got really sentimental during those exchange of texts, looking back when we were still in high school, the life and people we met after graduation, and how it changed us. Then some minutes passed, he didn't reply anymore. I wondered why, and right when I was about to text him again, this message from him came, followed by another, and another... after reading his last text, I was overwhelmed to find out that it was the lyrics to a song he just came up with for me! So I started writing it down, and excitedly put it together. I did a few revisions here and there, but I was so careful not to overdo it, coz I want his own style to stand out. It was really touching.

THE MOMENT YOU CAUGHT MY HEART

I'm trying to recreate my style... this one has a catchy jingle that's not like the common rap songs I compose... :)

While we were practicing this song, we had a lot of fun!
It was so hard singing it without standing up... and because of the catchy melody, we can't help ourselves...

We always get carried away at the very 1st beat of this song and we can't stop dancing!



DESEO SECRETO


I just posted it here earlier because I wanted to give you an idea of what to expect. :)


Deseo Secreto or Secret Desire. The title itself basically explains what's inside the song.
Upon creating Deseo Secreto, I somehow wandered a little farther outside my comfort zone.

I was surprised to find myself humming a song on a Spanish melody, and I was even surprised to even put some Spanish phrases within the lyrics!
The thing is, I don't know if the grammar is correct. lol.

♥Szikrettoh♥

Szikrettoh is made of 2 members, YhoRieck and Pinklove. We love rapping, and we definitely have fun rapping together. We are not saying we are any good, but even if our songs suck for the public, we'd accept that openly. We are only here to share our thoughts through our songs... coz it feels real good hearing the beat, then rhyme the words that our heart dictates. :)

♦Why this name?

Szikrettoh is a name i (Pinklove) made up for the two of us (YhoRieck & me).
I got the idea of making a name for us coz it looked kinda funny when he promotes our songs then he says "listen to my songs! just go to www.soundclick.com/pinklove"
it's like, whoa... he's this good-looking guy, then promotes his songs through a site with something so girly a name that's "pinklove"? lols. Anyway, i get more inspired writing songs when i know he's gonna do it with me, so it's a lot better!

♦Do you play live?

Live... at home :p and yeah, we like it. lols.

How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?

I guess through the net, a lot of fresh talents are discovered.

♦Would you sign a record contract with a major label?

Of course :D

Band History:

Szikrettoh was born practically out of nowhere! lol.
YhoRieck and I had known each other since we were 14yrs old, and had been friends from there on. Been through a lot (group projects, group activities, field trips, gimmicks, hang-outs, trouble, etc.,), still going through a lot, and will still go through a lot :D

This month (March of 2009) i (pinklove) texted him and asked him if he knows how to rap. He replied, telling me that he knows a little, but never really got into it. I then asked him to come over and do with me a song i wrote. He had nothing to do so he agreed and said he'd give it a shot. The very first song we did was Hindi Magbabago. He liked it a lot (even made me play it OVER and OVER again till my ears ached)... so now he got hooked into it! I asked him if he would like us to be a duo and he happily agreed.

We enjoy each others company so I know we'd have lots of fun.


And oh, yeah, this is our name not just because its just a name to call us...
the name we chose also shows something about us... coz guess what...
there really is a secret! :p

Your influences?

First of all there's the Master Rapper Francis M.
We've got high respect for him and we value all his works. We find inspiration in the way he carried out his career and his life.

R&B singers like ne-yo, craig david, chris brown also contributes as our musical influence.

THE TWIST ABOUT SZIKRETTOH

The rap we make are basically statements... though there is only one writer of the lyrics, the songs also define what the other wants to say. We have been friends for such a long time. We are almost like one another's diary. So although only one of us writes the song, some songs written are also a statement from the other one's thoughts.

And about our secret? Hmmm... can't tell :D
we won't be Szikrettoh anymore if I do! lol.
